The role will be part of the People Controls Team, which is transforming and maturing the People Risk and Control framework within Tesco Bank. The purpose of People Controls is to provide Controls and Risk Management leadership enabling colleagues to make the right decision.
The successful candidate will provide oversight of the People Risks and Controls, supporting our key stakeholders by providing expert guidance based on analytical outcomes and insight surrounding the operation of the Risk & Control environment, ultimately supporting the evolution and maturity of the Risk and Control profile.

The Role

The role will be within the People Controls Team, which is transforming and maturing the People Risk and Control framework within Tesco Bank. The purpose of the Team is to provide Controls and Risk Management leadership enabling colleagues to make the right decision.

Responsibilities

Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures, then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management program with guidance from a project/program manager.

Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.

Identify, within the team, instances of non-compliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these and escalating issues as appropriate.

Assist with stakeholder engagement by arranging actions, meetings, events, and supporting materials to promote stakeholder understanding and commitment.

Select the appropriate complex tests or tests from a specified range and carry out using specialized methods and equipment; validate and interpret test data to verify that specifications are met and/or to identify remedial actions required to ensure conformance or suitability.

Manage a portfolio of assurance and oversight assignments, ensuring that the team plans and delivers assurance and oversight that cover identified risk areas and that appropriate corrective actions are agreed on with business owners. Resolve issues arising from assurance and oversight and refer serious or contentious issues to the assurance or oversight program leader.
