Our 9-acre site is well organised and incorporates an extensive steel stock with various value-adding processing facilities within our 95,000sq. ft of warehousing. We excel in customer service by operating 24-hrs and delivering daily across the region and nationally using our own fleet of modern HGV’s. We are in a period of growth and seeking additional members to join our busy operations team.
Job Description
We are looking for additional members to join the busy Operations Team within our steel stock and processing facility. There are various roles across the department including – stock picking, shot blast-painting, band saw cutting, CNC drilling and vehicle loading. You will receive a full company induction and join a training programme to support your journey. The initial stage will include Safe Systems of Work, Quality procedures and Gantry Crane operation before progressing to specific work-centre/machinery competencies. We are a long-established, well-respected employer in the area, and we are looking to hear from a range of applicants to join our intake at various levels be it:
i) Trainee,
ii) Related experience,
iii) Direct experience.

· Location – Thirsk
· Pay – From £23k per annum+ (Paid Weekly)
· Additional Pay – Overtime at x 1.5 basic rate
· Annual Employer Ownership Trust bonus scheme which is free of income tax to a limit set by Government rules.
· 25 days holidays plus Bank Holidays
· Full time, permanent
· Hours – 8-hour Day shift, 06.45-15.30, Monday - Friday
Role specifics
- Work within a supportive operations team, being responsible to the Production Manager
- Work within our safety systems
- Adhere to the planning department’s dynamic work schedule
- Process orders according to the job sheet information
- Use the company’s stock management IT system to confirm all material
- Adhere to established quality checks and control procedures
- Responsibility for the steel processing machinery – checks, safety, cleaning, reporting
- Contribute to a good level of housekeeping and recycling across the site
- The site is extensive, and some outdoor work may be required
About you
- Previous experience would be an advantage but not essential – junior trainees also welcomed
- A positive, helpful, friendly attitude and can work well within a team
- Keen to take early responsibility within your role
- A good sense of safety and awareness within an industrial setting
- A good standard of numeracy and literacy
- Flexible and adaptable attitude.
- A desire to learn new skills and try new roles within the operation
- Considerate towards the whole production situation as well as your own workspace
