Following significant investment in the Sheffield site, the role of Operations or Production Manager is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to develop and grow their career within a multi-national organization.
In this role you will be responsible for...
- Create a culture and an environment that strives for zero accidents and incidents. Uphold safety standards for the site and ensure compliance. Ensure a safe working environment through provision of safe equipment, safe working environment, and safe systems of work. Hold team accountable for their health and safety performance through walkarounds and near miss reporting/ investigation.
- Manage resources to produce excellent products to meet customer and business requirements. Characterise manufacturing, filling and packaging performance and communicate to all levels of the business
- Engage and build effective teams. Coach, develop, reward and train employees for to grow and develop. (This includes hiring, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and implementing HR policies)
- Drive improvement programmes to continuously improve productivity, efficiency, safety and quality engaging teams to generate ideas and execute plans
- Get to root cause of safety, quality and supply issues and implement effective actions to prevent recurrance
The skills, qualifications and experience we are ideally looking for...
- Relevant Degree (example: Science Business and Science Engineering) or relevant experience
- Experience working within regulated environments, upholding safety standards and coaching to improve safety culture. COMAH experience an advantage
- Experience of managing, leading and coaching first line leaders within a chemicals process/manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of delivering significant continuous improvement results in a chemicals process/manufacturing environment. Experience applying lean tools and 5S
- Previous experience of leading significant organizational changes
- Proficient at developing and presenting business cases demonstrating persuasiveness, analytical skills and business acumen.
- Experienced in root cause analysis to deeply understand a diverse range of underlying causes to implement effective actions to prevent recurring issues
- Understanding of supply chain, engineering, finance, logistics an advantage
- Ability to make and deliver on promises and influence others to do likewise
- A strong track record of customer focus an working within quality systems
- An inclusive leader able to build and develop teams
- Experience and involvement of CAPEX expenditure and budget management
