POSITION: Marketing Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Sales and Marketing

STATUS: Full-Time (Exempt)

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing and Development


GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Marketing Coordinator assists the manager of marketing in planning and executing the annual marketing plan, which consists of emails, physical mailings, social media, overseeing the writing of topical blog posts, and advertising GBF presence and activity at a number of conferences throughout the year. The coordinator will also help create and maintain informational pieces (such as annual catalogs, sample lesson plans, and standards alignments) in both written and digital form. The coordinator stays informed of all Great Books activities, especially communicating with Sales, Training, and Creative Development to stay current with opportunities to incite and inform potential customers. In addition to these responsibilities, the Coordinator actively participates in market research initiatives and provides support for grant and RFP (Request for Proposal) applications, including the preparation of supporting materials. By actively contributing to these efforts, the Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in enhancing our organization's marketing strategies and expanding our reach.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Plan annual marketing calendar
  • Create and send regular emails on different aspects of Junior Great Books® to maintain contact with potential customers
  • Plan and help create annual K–8 and adult catalogs
  • Plan and execute a social media strategy
  • Organize the writing of regular blogs on trending topics in education
  • Layout sample lesson plans and other information pieces, to be printed and shared online
  • Interview customers about their experiences with Junior Great Books, and occasionally adult Great Books, to maintain a bank of written and video testimonials
  • Gather materials and prepare presentations for grant applications


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor of Arts in marketing preferred, Bachelor of Arts in communications or English with a minor in marketing considered
  • Strong writing capability
  • Fluency in InDesign
  • Fluency in HubSpot, Asana, Google Drive, or ability to learn these programs quickly
  • Great communication skills with fellow staff and Great Books customers and contacts

  • This is largely a sedentary role that frequently requires long periods of sitting to perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • The person may occasionally perform tasks that require standing, walking, twisting, using fine manipulation, grasping, using a telephone, writing by hand, and sorting and filing paperwork, as well as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.
  • The person works in an office setting with a light to moderate noise level.
