Shift patterns: Monday - Friday
Location: Ebbw Vale, NP23 8XF
DHL, award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transportation Operations Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily transportation and logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrative understanding of storage and distribution procedures.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
- Demonstrate core values and principles within you role to actively support in the development of the operational management team
- Monitor and report on transportation costs, ensuring cost-effective shipping methods are a priority consideration – Budget management.
- Monitor, oversee and report maintenance and repair schedules for all vehicles and relatable equipment.
- Keep organised records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders, ensuring shipping documents are properly filed and logged.
- Ensure all safety records, compliance and regulations are up to date and in line with company policies and legislation, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Previous and demonstrative experience as a Transport Manager, within a logistics environment or similar role.
- Previous experience of the preparation and distribution of volume orders.
- Understanding and practical knowledge of logistics software packages.
- Excellent organisational and problem solving skills.
- A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well received.
