Job description
East Sussex Care Delivery Service (CDS) provides specialist community and inpatient mental health services for adults over the age of 18, living within East Sussex. We believe in providing outstanding quality, safe and effective care and treatment that everyone can be proud of. Amberstone is a 28 bed Recovery and Rehabilitation unit, situated in rural East Sussex (approximately 2 miles from Hailsham and 8 miles north of Eastbourne) and provides rehabilitation for adults who are recovering from serious mental illness. The focus is to enable people to reach their full potential and achieve a smooth transition into the community. The ward works closely with Community Rehabilitation colleagues as an integral part of the award-winning East Sussex Rehabilitation Pathway.
We would welcome applicants from those who are motivated and dynamic in their work, using their own initiative to support Amberstone Ward, working closely with the occupational therapy team and the wider ward where a compassionate and friendly approach is key.
We are part of a trust which offers specialist training programs tailored to enable professional development, quality improvement and improve the care our patients receive.
If you want to work somewhere where your ideas are heard and your development supported then we would encourage applicants to contact us about the role and arrange an informal visit to the unit.
Amberstone Ward is looking for a friendly, positive, enthusiastic, team player to fulfil the role of occupational therapy assistant, band 3, with a passion to support the wellbeing and recovery of people who are on our mental health rehabilitation ward. You will be working alongside Occupational Therapists and be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team to assist with a patient's recovery.
You will be working under the guidance of Occupational Therapists to offer individual and group interventions that help people do the activities that will help people work on their rehabilitation goals, regain independence and develop a better quality of life.
You will be given clear objectives, direction and supervision to enhance your personal and professional development.
Working hours will be across a 7 day service including shift patterns of 9am - 5pm or 12pm to 8pm.
We are a committed team of individuals, like-minded in our devotion to the mental health of our service users.
We are a large NHS Mental Health Trust in South East England. We’re looking for people to help us provide high quality services for patients, carers and local communities we serve.
We want patients and staff to recommend our organisation as a place where they would be happy for their friends and family to be treated. You can help us do this by bringing your skills, experience and commitment to Sussex Partnership.
