We have an excellent opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join a leading full-service IT Support Consultancy at their office in Harrogate. This thriving company offers a variety of IT Support services to organisations throughout the local area.

As an IT Support Engineer, your main responsibility will be to investigate and resolve incoming customer support requests. We are contracted by small businesses in the area to take care of their IT requirements, when they have an issue you will be their first point of contact. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to the operational setup of our clients systems, to make sure they are staying up to date and protected. This is an exciting opportunity for a customer focused individual who is a natural problem solver and able to work efficiently.

You must have excellent communication skills and you'll ideally be an all-rounder who is comfortable providing IT Support.

Role and Responsibilities;

  • Answering incoming service requests to provide end user support.
  • Remotely accessing computer systems to resolve issues.
  • Troubleshooting system, software, hardware, and network problems and putting the solution into place.
  • Escalate any complex problems to technical support engineers as appropriate.
  • Managing and prioritising own workloads.
  • Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals.
  • Accurate record keeping of all interaction with clients, keeping work logs and client documentation up to date.
  • Maintaining client confidentiality and security at all times.
  • Any other duties at the request of the management.

What we are looking for;

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Previous experience in supporting and configuring Microsoft Windows laptops, desktops, and servers.
  • Knowledge of routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Ability to pick up new skills and techniques on the job.
  • Well organised, good note and record keeping. Stay on top of documentation.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and to tight deadlines.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £23,000.00-£26,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus scheme
  • Yearly bonus

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Harrogate, HG1 5PD: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (required)

Experience:

  • Technical support: 1 year (preferred)
  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: One location
