An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band B7 Occupational Therapist to join CLCH’s well established Unplanned Care (D2A/RR) Team based in Edgware Community Hospital, Barnet, North London.
The successful applicant will receive regular supervision; have access to a wide range of development opportunities to support their continued professional development. There are also monthly peer support groups and regular appraisals. There is opportunity for you to gain a wide perspective in a range of clinical areas and new ways of working e.g offering you the opportunity to develop your supervisory skills, to work with a knowledgeable range of professionals and also to contribute to service development.
The successful post holders should have a Bsc/Msc in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC membership. They should be highly organised with excellent verbal and written communication skills, evidence and experience of being able to assess Occupational Therapy needs, set goals and formulate treatment plans, with sound clinical knowledge and proven experience in acute and community clinical environments. You will need to be adaptable to operate in a fast moving environment and have the clinical skills and ability to function in a larger team. .
They will participate in seven day working Rota and have an ability to work 37.5 hours per week.

To provide a highly specialist Community Occupational Therapy Service as part of Unplanned Care (RR/D2A) Therapy Team, to adult clients who are diverted from hospital admission or being discharged early to the community.
To work as a fully integrated team member sharing in administrative, co-ordination and liaison responsibilities.
To undertake the assessment of clients’ referred to the teams to determine suitability for equipment and rehabilitation and communicating outcomes to referrers.
To deputise for the team leaders as requested.
To regularly supervise OT staff and other members of the team in Bands 5 and below, to ensure high quality service provision that meets standards for practice.
To supervise OT students on practice placement by providing support aimed at maintaining and developing standards of practice.
To undertake a community occupational therapy role with adults who have complex health and social needs referred to the Team.
To provide a specialist response in complex cases formulating and implementing intervention plans aimed at reducing the impact of disability and ill health.
To independently manage a caseload of complex cases evidencing high level problem solving, reasoning skills and judgement.
To manage a defined caseload using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
