Position Summary:
The College of Science and Engineering at Houston Christian University seeks applicants for adjunct faculty positions in Information Systems who are passionate about teaching and student learning in a Christian environment. Adjunct faculty will be working with HCU faculty and staff in the College of Science and Engineering in developing and delivering undergraduate-level courses in the field of information systems. Positions are open for Fall 2023.

Adjunct (part-time) faculty hiring is based on student demand. Adjunct faculty are hired in a part-time capacity on a course-by-course basis, contingent upon the needs of the University. HCU accepts application material year-round from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate-level courses in the field of information systems through an interactive lab-based curriculum.
- Participate in course development and review as needed and recommend changes to courses and curriculum design.
- Manage classroom environment and assist in creating an effective Christian learning environment.
- Motivate students to learn and grow in their knowledge and skills associated with information systems within a Christian environment.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a related discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in a related discipline and teaching experience aligned with the discipline.
- A PhD in a related discipline is preferred.
- Industry work experience in the related discipline is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
