A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A NIGHT MANAGER AT MERCURE AND IBIS STYLES PAIGNTON What you'll be doing... Supporting the leadership of the Front Desk team and Night audit team. Monitoring and supporting progress toward Guest Services and Front Desk goals. Ensuring exceptional customer service. Being manager on duty and person in charge during the overnight shift in the hotel, managing night employees in all areas of the hotel, ensuring the safety and security of employees, guests and assets. Monitor and develop team members performance and provide support. Coordinate Front Office activities with other departments. Collaborates with the Front Office Manager on ways to continually improve departmental service. Assiting the over night Food and Beverage operation. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements... To succeed in the role of Night Manager, you will need the following qualities and skills. A pleasant, guest-focused demeanour. Comfortable working night shifts. Flexibility and adaptable to different working conditions and hours. Leadership and team building skills. Eye for detail and the ability to use own initiative Experience in a similar role is essential. Familiar with and experience in managing hotel crisis management interventions. Forward thinking & promotes new ideas. Oral & written fluency in English. Additional language will be considered a plus. Self-motivation, with a positive attitude. Knowledge of Opera PMS.
