Job description

Position: Accounting Technician

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field

Experience: 1 to 2 years

Key Result Areas

· To manage student recruitment agencies for queries relating to fee payments

· To reconcile all the incoming /outgoing financial transactions

· To update account information and records of suppliers

· To maintain and monitor company’s financial systems

· To handle general account queries

· To maintain a record of all receipts and payments

· To act as a point of contact for all internal and external financial issues

· To process payroll for all staff employees with support of HR department

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational

· Collection of income, receipting of payments by cheque, credit cards or other methods and reconciliation.

· Accurate and timely reimbursement of petty cash float and other non-tuition fee payments held and taken within the office.

· Correspond with staff, and other external agencies regarding financial matters appropriately and efficiently

· Support the activities of the office such as open days, award ceremonies etc.

· To provide accurate and efficient finance support to staff, suppliers and customers of the Commercial Services to assist in the smooth financial operation of the Department to ensure that suppliers are paid to terms and that all regulations are complied with.

· Administer a range of transactional financial processes to ensure the Department's financial administration meets University regulations including timesheet claims, credit card reconciliation, and hospitality cards; ensuring they are recorded and reconciled correctly.

· Administer procurement processes to ensure the Department’s financial administration meets Academy guidelines and financial regulations; ensuring they are recorded and reconciled correctly.

· Ensure processing and reporting is conducted in a timely manner and to provide accurate records on Microsoft Excel and on the Academy’s computerised accounting system.

· Act as first point of contact for general finance queries ensuring excellent customer service is provided. Taking ownership of queries by ensuring resolution or escalation, and adhering to all appropriate legislation, Academy and Department guidelines and policies.

· Provide assistance within the wider finance team to ensure cross-cover in all areas of work

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £26,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
