In the role of New Business Development Manager at Supplement Factory, your primary responsibility will be to secure new clientele. You'll be tasked with managing enquiries as individual projects, leveraging your account management acumen and innate sales flair to finalise orders.
Our sales development team provides you with well-vetted leads, setting the stage for you to construct the prospect’s product and price. Being a manufacturing business, our contracts involve multiple variables. Our quotations may necessitate sourcing up to 40 ingredients or more, some potentially obscure, as well as bespoke packaging requirements. You must be ingenious, resilient, and competent in collaborating with our procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing teams. It will be your mandate to drive these stakeholders in managing your projects effectively and to ensure the provision of innovative, cost-effective solutions.
If you're known for pulling results out of the bag, and are fuelled by the thrill of securing a sale, this position is tailor-made for you. As you become more familiar with the role, you'll have the chance to expand and nurture your client base, turning them into successful accounts for Supplement Factory. This process will involve continually cultivating your relationships with clients, keeping an ear to the ground for potential new projects and keeping abreast with fluctuating demand. You'll utilise your account management skills to propose new strategies for support and growth, such as new product development, novel formats, and assistance with expansion into new territories or sales channels.
To get a feel for this role, picture this scenario: a qualified prospect is introduced to you by our SDR team. They're a well-funded enterprise looking to manufacture a superfood powder supplement with an assortment of ingredients, all packaged in a biodegradable pouch. Your role is to discern the client's goals, understand their target demographic, collaborate with our technical team to devise a palatable and effective formulation, and source unique packaging. Even if it's not entirely technically feasible, you're tasked with working with our teams to devise a solution closely aligning with the client's objectives and advising them on possible outcomes. You'll be instrumental in creating the product samples, tasting and evaluating them yourself, and in conjunction with our supply chain team, generating cost-effective pricing that aligns with the client's objectives. Subsequently, it will be your duty to negotiate the deal to closure, from which point the client is yours. You’ll be persistent and forthright in doing this. You will then nurture this relationship over time, staying engaged to comprehend their regular operations and identifying ways to present innovative ideas and business proposals for manufacture.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders across supply chain, purchasing, finance, technical, and manufacturing to swiftly build and manage complex technical quoting projects, and to develop product concepts into plans for finished products within the customer's target price.
- Managing multiple new prospect projects simultaneously with a high degree of organisation to ensure all prospects maintain regular communication and progress on their projects.
- Discovering solutions to meet ambitious client requirements, such as custom-shaped biodegradable packaging.
- Compiling quotes on our technical quote sheets.
- Attending sales and supply chain meetings
- Managing your pipeline effectively with tools such as HubSpot.
