Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Role Summary:
LCCC is launching our very first Net Zero Graduate Scheme with the opportunity for four successful candidates to join us. The Graduate scheme will provide the opportunity to work across multiple areas in LCCC and be involved in some of the UKs most exciting and high-profile Net Zero programmes and projects, as well as the potential to be involved in innovative low carbon schemes that are helping the UK reach our 2050 Net Zero target. This will be a 24-month rotational placement covering strategy, operations, policy, and commercial development, and project contract delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Below are some of the responsibilities and activities you’ll be performing on a day-to-day basis during your placements in each of our teams
- Working with Managers and Leads on Policy and Commercial Developments;
- Answering queries
- Writing briefing documents
- Reading and reviewing industry documents
- Providing an overview to the business on how it impacts LCCC
- Supporting on scheme issues and identifying solutions for implementation
- Assisting Contract Managers and/Lead Contract Managers with;
- Contract management tasks
- Allocation Round 4 Milestone Delivery Date Evaluation
- Allocation Round 5 Initial Conditions Precedent Evaluation
- Counterparty and generator engagement
- Site engagement visits
- Preparing presentation packs
- Relationship management
- Supporting with the strategy annual review;
- Ensuring company KPI documentation is up-to-date
- Seeking and analysing feedback on company Scorecard improvement
- Helping to facilitate workshops for all staff members to identify areas for improvement
- Translating workshop output themes into actionable initiatives and projects
- Change Management activity including project management and business requirements
- Operational delivery and continuous improvement of existing schemes
- New schemes implementation activities, supporting subject matter experts to build understanding of how schemes will work in practice
- Development and maintenance of change proposals; business processes and system requirements
- Assist with the analysis of scheme data identify trends, and highlighting focus areas for improvement
- Build an understanding of settlement mechanics and their application in the settlement system and audit tools
- Problem solving operational issues that present themselves through the placement and lead the change, presentation of the impact and solutions
- Undertake supported engagement with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational improvement/excellence
- There will be the opportunity to work closely with our in-house Legal Team on activities such as; undertaking research, redacting/preparing documents to be sent out, and reviewing documents that require further translation for the receiver.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
- Interest and passion for low carbon energy initiatives and developments
- At least a 2:2 in one of the following subjects:
- STEM Subject
- Energy
- Environment
- Policy/Politics
- Economics/Business
- Geography
- Accounting and Finance
- Law
- History
- Interest and passion for low carbon energy initiatives and developments
- Aptitude for problem solving to develop/improve processes
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical thinking (both qualitative and quantitative)
- An interest in the coordination or management of projects in either a business or academic setting
- Interest and/or experience in contract management
- Experience/exposure of data analytical tools and data management techniques
- Knowledge of UK energy landscape
