Salary: £ 37987.78 and other benefits (see below) – salaries include on call allowance. Full Time and Permanent – 42.5 hours a week plus overtime after 42.5 hours On call – 1 week in every 4 or 1 in 5. On call cover is emergency response / serious H&S / trade affecting issues across a larger geography 24/7

We are looking to recruit a Multi site Technician within Asda retail stores to maintain a wide variety of electrical and mechanical equipment across the Asda business.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, but applicants should be flexible as there is a requirement to carry out a rostered out of hours on call service which includes weekends. The role is to maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment which includes bakery and catering equipment, compactors, lighting and other static or portable electrical equipment, systems and circuitry.
Other responsibilities will include: (not an exhaustive list):
- Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales
- To service and maintain a variety of assets including mechanical and electrical systems, building fabric, water services
- Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the City FM Helpdesk
- Prioritize maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times
- Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individuals’ technical competence and in accordance with current specifications
- Liaise with project teams on store alterations, modernizations and other relevant works
- Advise the General Store Manager of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store.
- To identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly escalate to line manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
- To carry out surveys and complete reports as required and maintain accurate administration recording of jobs live, and time management
- To assist other MSTs in other Stores/Regions as required.
- To recruit and select suitably qualified and experienced Maintenance Assistants to ensure continuous service delivery in stores.
- To supervise the Maintenance Assistants across the Region, completing all induction and training administration, including probationary reviews of your specifically allocated stores
- To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments, which may include overnight stays.
- Ensure Asset database is accurate and current for each site
- To provide on the job coaching/ technical training and support to the team to ensure they are able to perform to the required standards within their role.
- To participate in an Out of Hours standby rota (min 1 week in 4) and provide on call cover is emergency response / serious H&S / trade affecting issues across a larger geography 24/7
- To complete general repairs to plumbing systems and drainage, and be first response for equipment such as Fire and Security/ HVAC/electrical and general mechanical / building issues
ABOUT YOU: Ideally, we are looking for a full qualified Electrician who has a building maintenance and PPM background. You'll enjoy working autonomously in a pressurised environment and be able to prioritise a complex and demanding workload, as well as:
- Full driving licence
- 18th edition qualified or C&G Electrical Part A & B
- Mechanical knowledge
- 3 phase electrics and its applications
- Good interpersonal skills
- Building Maintenance and PPM background / experience
- General plumbing and building skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- and desirable: Time served Electrical Apprenticeship
