Job Title: Bioveterinary Scientist - Molecular Biology
Location: Leamington Spa
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week including Saturday rota

Antech Diagnostics are looking for Molecular Biology Bioveterinary Scientists to join our brand new veterinary diagnostics laboratory opening late summer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business who have been around for over 30 years!

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting up, reading and resulting assigned cultures using approved protocols.
• Performing all work under strict quality control and per QA guidelines.
• Carry out routine equipment QC and maintenance.
• Read, understand and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Participate in all departmental training to ensure ongoing technical competency.
• Assist the Lead Technician in managing the inventory.
• Comply with laboratory Health and Safety procedures.
• Ensure work area is clean and organised, and adequately stocked.

Experience and skill set required:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a Science related field
• A minimum of 1 year Molecular Biology clinical laboratory experience which must include specimen receipt and processing.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Organised with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high throughput environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good customer service and reasoning skills
• Personal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to adapt and be flexible to meet the demands of the business
