Milker/General Farm worker Crewkerne, England
Job description
We are looking for a general farm hand to work as part of an award-winning family business near to Crewkerne, Somerset. We milk 1900 cows 3x daily through an 80pt Boumatic Rotary Parlour and last year's average production per cow was 11,500 litres at 4.05BF and 3.5P, with milk sold to Arla on a TSDG contract. Our facilities and housing are designed to assist in easy management of cows and their comfort, and we strive to continually improve our cow health and adhere to high standards of animal health and welfare.
Reporting to the shift manager the main part of this will role will involve milking the herd, with other jobs such as moving cows, scraping yards, helping with veterinary work and relief work at the calf rearing unit. The exact split of duties will be determined by the interest, capability, and development goals of the individual. Previous experience useful but not essential, and opportunities to learn a great array of new skills open to candidates who are willing to learn. A full driving licence is essential for this role.

Full time positions available for a split between our 2 shifts of 5am-3:30pm and 3:30pm-2am, ranging between 47 - 57 hours. We may also offer part time positions depending on candidate needs. Share accommodation is available and other benefits include paid holidays and company pension.
