Interested in joining a great organisation with an employee offer and experience that rivals others? Are you looking for a new challenge in Adult Social Care? If so, please keep reading as you’re just what we’re looking for!

The team…

The Provider Service supports people with disabilities (learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or mental health conditions) to be influential in their local communities through citizenship, employment, enterprise, and volunteering opportunities. With a strong focus on the abilities of the individual and not their disabilities, we recognise the importance of supporting individuals to obtain their maximum potential and achieve the same life outcomes as those of people without disabilities.

Provider services are also key to supporting older people to remain in their own homes through facilitating seamless hospital discharges, preventing unnecessary admissions to hospital and residential care, by working with individuals to regain or maintain their independence with enablement and reablement approaches.

About the roles….

We are looking to appoint 2 Medication Officers for our new purpose-built Sister Winifred Laver Promoting Independence Centre, due to open in August 2023, a 60-bed intermediate care facility located in Felling.

You will be required to dispense and administer medication, in line with Gateshead Council Medication Policy. Maintain accurate records relating to the storage, dispensing, administration and disposal of medication in line with CQC requirements and NICE guidelines.

You will be expected to work to a rota which will include early, late, weekend and Bank Holiday working

Applicants need to have experience in dispensing and administering medication. Qualifications: QCF/RQF/NVQ level 3 in Safe Handling of Medication or equivalent
