Position: Receptionist / Administrator
Contract Information:
o Weekly Hours: Negotiable (Mon – Fri with option of covering other staff members holiday)

The Apollo Surgery is an established Training Practice and is part of Birmingham and
Solihull CCG. We provide high quality general medical services and additional enhanced services to our population of patients who reside in and around Kingstanding & Oscott.
We aim to monitor our workload and provision of services and adapt accordingly. The practice has a approximately 2200 registered patients. Our core services are provided from Monday to Friday 8:30am – 6:30pm, and the computer system we utilise is EMIS

Job Posting
Duties will involve:
- Dealing with all patient/visitor enquiries
- Using appointment systems to book appointments and recalls
- Explaining practice arrangements to new and temporary patients
- Retrieving and accurately filing away medical records
- Receiving and making telephone calls, taking messages as required
- Ensuring consulting rooms and waiting areas are prepared and kept tidy each day
- Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times·
Skills/abilities required:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good standard of general education
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- I.T. Literate
- Excellent organisation skills
- attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and prioritise workload
- Team player
- Well motivated
- Previous experience in a busy reception or NHS environment would be desirable
