Essential Duties

  • Depending on the specific requirements of each day, work with Print Lab leadership and the student worker team to fulfill any of the following tasks as needed:
  • Overseeing and distributing the incoming flow of emails to the Print and Imaging Lab, phone calls, walk-in clients, and quote requests.
  • Creating estimates for new projects and inputting orders into production. This will include working with outside vendors for finishing and other external bids for projects, working with the department's budgets, suggesting options that fit their project needs and creating project plans and timelines between the customer and the production team.
  • Reviews incoming files with the production team. Understands Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop and can set up simple files for print production as needed. Understands the importance of brand standards and can assist clients with adhering to the ASU brand standards.
  • Following up with production schedule to ensure that jobs are on track to meet deadlines and coordinating with outside vendors.
  • Assisting with handling simple accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as sending invoices, processing payments, and documenting/paying outstanding bills.
  • When necessary, assist with various production, bindery, and finishing tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree plus two years’ experience in the operation of moderate to highly sophisticated print and bindery equipment, including six months lead experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience in shifting between different responsibilities depending on the current needs of production.
  • Experience in learning multiple areas of operation within the Print and Imaging Lab and contribute as a team player.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Experience in providing customer service via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Experience in coordinating and overseeing work of subordinate personnel.
  • Evidence of effective communication skills.
  • Experience in work that requires organizational skills.

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform job duties.

Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds. Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.

Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.

May need to work weekends, weeknights, and holidays.
