We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our established multidisciplinary team on the Inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (INRU) at Moseley Hall Hospital.
We are looking for a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Therapy Assistant to work closely alongside our Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. The post holder will support the delivery of progressive rehabilitation and disability management programmes; aiding our patients to reach their maximum functional abilities and achieve their goals. The role can be physically demanding but very rewarding.
The successful candidate will require good written and verbal communication skills and to be computer literate.
The post holder will be supported to work through Band 3 Therapy Assistant Competencies, with training provided as required.
Please note: The split of time between working with the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams will fluctuate depending on the needs of the patients and service.
- To assist the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and with the assessment and ongoing therapeutic management of Neuro In-Patients. Conditions include complex permanent disabilities, multiple pathologies, life-limiting conditions and challenging and unpredictable behaviours.
- To assist the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering the Therapy Service on the unit, in the community and with pre- discharge assessments of patients within their own homes. Reporting back to the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists on the outcomes of delegated treatments.
- To assist the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists with the ordering and maintenance of equipment and therapy stock.
- To work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team supporting registered health practitioners, contributing to the effectiveness of team working in neuro rehabilitation.
- Ability to work flexibly across a 7 day working pattern and to provide support within the neuro rehabilitation beds as and when required.
