The role
As a Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working within a skilled team, you will work on projects like no other within our Mission Systems division, who enable the collection, management & dissemination of intelligence. And support our customer by delivering Electronic Warfare solutions as well as enabling command and control through provision of solutions.
Day to day, you’ll work on a variety of projects under the Engineering Services agreement.
- You’ll provide professional and flexible technical solutions to the ongoing operation and maintenance of extant services and equipment.
- You will also provide M&E designs for the provision of new, or modification of existing, designs, equipment, and facilities.
- Ensure all projects are delivered within budget and in accordance with applicable performance targets.
Essential experience of the Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineer,
- Proven experience in previous roles delivering M&E design solutions.
- Financial awareness for effective control of budgets.
- It would be desirable Working knowledge of the Code of Practice for the In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (4th Edition).
- Proficient with core Microsoft Office365 applications (Word / Excel)
- Experience in technical document production and configuration control.
- Computer Aided Design qualification Seimens NX12/teamcentre and AutoCAD
- Desirable to have experience of C&G 2394 & 5
Due to the nature of the role, this role will be onsite from our Ashchurch site and offers full time work at 37 hours per week.
Qualifications for the Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineer,
- Minimum HND/HNC qualified in an engineering discipline with extensive experience in the relevant field will be considered.
- Ideally, you will be a member of a relevant professional body, or you will have significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council at CEng or IEng level.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC / DV security clearance level for this role.
