Job Summary and Qualifications
1. Schedules patient’s procedures accurately according to hospital schedules, queries and/or scripts and verifies questionable procedures with Coordinator.
2. Demonstrates the ability to coordinate and schedule diagnostic procedures that are not performed in OR department but are necessary prior to the surgical procedure.
3. Has a working knowledge and vocabulary of procedures scheduled, knowledge of CPT codes.
4. Confirms surgery time and date with caller prior to close of phone call. Confirmations to be sent to office schedulers within 24 hours of posting to review for accuracy.
5. Supports daily management of the OR with regard to Materials Management.
6. Works with surgical unit to maintain accurate par levels in all areas and takes responsibility for yearly inventory.
7. Responsible for ordering all routine and special order supplies as needed in the OR.
8. Works closely with Supply Chain Manager to order new/current products accounted for in SMART system.
9. Responsible for tissue/implant inventory as well as maintaining documents for regulatory agencies.
10. Provides reports for the Surgical Director as needed.
11. Properly keeps up with date and expiration of PAR level.
12. Supports the hospital’s mission, goals and values.
What qualifications you will need:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Basic computer skills needed, knowledge of excel and ability to develop working spreadsheets
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal errors
- Masters Meditech, SMART, and GHX systems
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have at least one year of scheduling experience.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office required.
- Knowledge of inventory systems required, Current or formerly work with Supply Chain preferred.
