Job description
We are currently recruiting for a Material Handler and Cutter to work at our steel stockholder site based in Miles Platting, Manchester.
The duties of the role will include;
· Operating overhead cranes and counterbalance forklift trucks up to 16T
· Handling Steel Coil and Steel Plate both inside and out in the yard
· Helping to load and unload machinery and trucks
· Oxy Cutter (Flame Cutter) – Training provided
· Setting and Operating a De-coiler line to specification – Training provided
· Loading and Unloading the line with coils using a pendant overhead crane
· Quality checking of the sheets using measuring equipment for accuracy
· Banding and Packing
· General Warehouse Duties
The ideal candidate will have;
· A good attitude, good time keeping and commitment to learning the machinery
· Experience working within the Steel Industry
· Confidence operating overhead cranes to move steel coils
· Forklift Truck licence
· A good team player
Hours of Work;
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm. Immediate start and position leading to permanent after a successful 16 week probation period.
Rate of Pay;
Starting rate is £10.42 an hour.
