Job description

Job Introduction

We are looking for a brilliant Marketing Executive to join our BBC Children’s and Charities team. This is a hybrid role, combining some working from home with a regular base at MediaCity in Salford.

Our team works on some of the biggest and best brands in kids TV and Entertainment. From Hey Duggee and Horrible Histories to the CBeebies Playtime Island app and BBC Children in Need, we look after brands for kids of all ages and interests.

We deliver strategic, creative and tactical marketing campaigns that you and your family and friends will see on TV, Radio, Social and on the high street.

CBeebies, CBBC, BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief are big, busy brands that need lots of love and attention – so if you’re hard working and passionate about young audiences and what they need, we’d love to hear from you!

Main Responsibilities

As Marketing Executive, you’ll work with two Marketing Managers and a team of Marketing Executives plus a Coordinator to deliver and evaluate multi-media campaigns for a variety of brands across Children’s.

You will also work closely with other teams at the BBC - Production, Scheduling, Social, Presentation, Creative, Media and Interactive - to support the delivery of brilliantly creative campaigns that are on brand, on budget and on time.

Are you the right candidate?

The right person will have worked in the media/broadcast industry or an agency/similar business - ideally on brands that are loved by pre-school or school aged children, teenagers or families.

You will be able to tell us how you manage multi-media campaigns through each stage - from writing inspiring briefs to learning from your results. You may also have experience and passion for digital marketing and measurement.

You will be a strong communicator who’s good with people and can handle tricky conversations. You will need to be self-motivated and extremely organised as there’s a lot to do, but never be afraid to ask for help when you need it (we work in a great team!).

About the BBC

We don’t focus simply on what we do – we also care how we do it. Our values and the way we behave are important to us. Please make sure you’ve read about our values and behaviours in the document attached below.

Diversity matters at the BBC. We have a working environment where we value and respect every individual's unique contribution, enabling all of our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential.

We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of the BBC – whether that’s to contribute to our programming or our wide range of non-production roles. The more diverse our workforce, the better able we are to respond to and reflect our audiences in all their diversity.

We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from individuals, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background, religion and/or belief. We will consider flexible working requests for all roles, unless operational requirements prevent otherwise.
