Role: Manufacturing Manager
Location: Rawtenstall
Salary: £45,000- £55,000
Tailor made are excited to be recruiting for an award-winning supplier of high-quality grip and wire rope products, with over 40 years of industry heritage. They are seeking a Manufacturing manger to ensure that all aspects of manufacturing and material development requirements are competently met.
To control, develop and improve manufacturing processes whilst managing and monitoring quality standards. Supervising and ensuring that all projects and orders are completed efficiently, within deadlines and within budget. Also Directs the development and implementation of activities in manufacturing areas to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
The role:
s Prioritise and plan production schedules
s Develop schedules and resource requirements for assigned areas
s Control, develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes, layouts and activities
s Ensure quality and ISO standards are achieved
s To embrace continuous improvement and work closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager
s Work alongside the design and production team to manage projects
s Make budgetary recommendations and provide the finance department with annual budget for approval
s To ensure that all company plant, equipment, and tools are properly maintained
s Supervise onsite contractors and maintain and update operating and training manuals for each area of production
s To ensure that all technicians are trained on the most up to date version of the operating procedures
s Produce monthly reports and attend operations and management meetings
s Existence and awareness of a suitable and relevant health and safety policy
s Prevention and precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, radiation and manual handling risks
s Lead and contribute to management meetings and group discussions, to solve problems and make decisions. Help to develop and improve teams, individuals, and self
s Ensure that immediate management are kept informed, in an appropriate level of detail, about activities, progress, results and achievements
About you:
s HNC (equivalent) or higher in a Manufacturing related qualification
s NEBOSH
s Ability to prioritise workload against changing demands
s A good understanding of working in a Continuous Improvement environment
s Basic/Intermediate understanding of lean manufacturing principles
s Able to support others effectively within a change environment
s Capable of working with teams with a complexity of skills (Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, etc.)
s Good written and verbal communications skills including group presentation
s Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing processes and other business process improvement tools
