This position will be based in the Silicon Manufacturing area of the Druck Leicester business. The individual will be involved in key business value streams and will take ownership of the manufacturing engineering activities required across the whole product lifecycle phases, to meet manufacturability, quality, schedule and cost goals.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, your main responsibilities will involve:
Supporting a fast-paced manufacturing production line to maintain production throughput ensuring safety, quality and timing goals are met
Proactively identifying continuous improvements on the production line, through process monitoring and data analysis, and leading these projects to completion
Perform feasibility studies on new processes and develop existing processes with robust process controls across a portfolio of products and lifecycle phases, from initial product development planning, product launch, capacity increases and ongoing production support
Providing key input into product changes and modifications, to ensure they are designed for efficient manufacture and assembly.
Ability to lead, influence and motivate cross functional teams to achieve manufacturing excellence, working with our external customers and suppliers when required
Acting as the Manufacturing Engineering authority for process planning, change management requests, documentation signoffs and process validation
Develop, procure and maintain fixturing and tooling for manufacturing

To be successful in this role you will:
Have HNC/HND or equivalent experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering discipline, with recent manufacturing engineering position
Have strong oral and written communication skills
Have proven ability to solve complex technical problems
Having good interpersonal skills and be able to work independently and as a team
Have ability to use CAD (previous knowledge of Solidworks is an advantage) to design fixtures and analyse product designs. Experience with drafting technical drawings and GT&D
Have strong knowledge of different manufacturing processes, assembly techniques and good attention to detail of components and assemblies
Have depth of experience in driving process improvements
Have background in reviewing and approving engineering drawings of components and assemblies
Have Ability to efficiently convert technical information & engineering drawing data into work instructions & technical narratives
Have an understanding of ERP system, planning controls and Bills of Materials would be an advantage. (SAP)
Have working knowledge of LEAN principles and continuous improvement tools
