The Borders and Trade Finance Team provide financial services to the business including budgeting, financial management, reporting, control and financial analysis at group level and is part of a wider finance function of the group which includes the Financial Business Partners to the group.

Job description

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the provision of in-year financial and workforce reporting to the FD, UK Transition and Borders and Trade SLT and to Strategic Finance, requesting and collating information from the business/finance colleagues to for fill requirements within tight timescales.
  • Using ERP to upload forecasts, complete journals, accruals and run a suite of reports. Analyse business information to identify trends, risks and issues and support the innovation and production of informative management information packs.
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders across UK Transition and Borders Finance and Planning community to drive up the quality of forecasts, plans and underlying processes.
  • Working with Strategic Finance and other stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding of UK Transition and Borders financial position.
  • Support the delivery of longer term consolidated financial and workforce plans to Corporate Finance and other stakeholders, based on underlying data from the business.

Person specification

Essential

  • Previous experience in a finance, analytical or planning role where you have demonstrated financial skills and knowledge alongside strong analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of financial practices and processes including examples of setting up complex data monitoring processes and trackers.
  • Experience in using financial systems such as SAP FM and PS, MyBuy or other procurement system. Including updating information, running reports and interrogating.
  • Effective communication skills and an ability to take large sets of data and communicate insightful information to others.
  • Confidence and ability to create the credibility needed to engage and challenge leaders in a considered and professional manner.
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Word and Power BI.

Team members that are moving offices as a result of the Locations Programme will be entitled to a Moves Adjustment Payment for three years where they incur additional costs. This is calculated based on the difference between the costs of travelling to and from the new and old office, over a weekly period. Selection process details
