Our Organisation
The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. It is responsible for promoting and developing every level of the game, from grassroots through to the professional game, and generates significant revenue to support investment into English football each year.
The FA oversees England international teams across men's, women's, youth and disability football, as well as running the National League System and FA Competitions including the Emirates FA Cup, Barclays FA Women's Super League, FA Women's Championship, and Vitality Women's FA Cup, and the world-class facilities of Wembley Stadium and St. George's Park, all with a purpose to Unite the Game and Inspire the Nation.

The role:
- To lead the month-end process for a specific divisional area/s to ensure a clear and accurate financial position is reported
- Support the wider stakeholder finance teams in financial processing and preparation of monthly management accounts
- Work closely with Business Partners to perform variance analysis on management reports
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Support the Accounts Payable team in the end-to-end payment approval process
- Manage the accounting for funding partner spend and provide stakeholder reporting when required
- To provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to the business to assist with decision making
- To administer the Management Accounting Systems
- Support Business Partners in the production of divisional reporting, the annual budgets and quarterly reforecasting. Actual reporting to include journal calculation and posting.
- Provide financial information to support divisions with their financial plans and decision making
- Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
Skills and experience required:
- Part qualified/newly qualified member of either ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA or AAT
- Knowledge of financial accounting, financial planning, financial reporting and accounts payable systems
- Proactive with a drive for excellence
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Able to demonstrate time management skills
- The individual must be a good communicator, as they will be dealing with various people at all levels within the company and externally.
- The individual must be self motivated & flexible in their approach
- Must be aware of confidential nature of information received and processes

Please be aware that unless you are on a homebased contract, your contract with The FA will specify a fixed location of either Wembley Stadium, St. George's Park or our Processing Centre.
We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.
