Job description
Purpose of role: To support the depot by ensuring the site is safe and efficient and all defects are corrected to a high standard.
Reports to: Automation and Engineering Manager
Based: UK Based, Islip Depot
Key Responsibilities:
- To support the depot by ensuring that the site is safe and efficient, by being reactive and proactive to the tasks that are needed to be completed.
- On a daily basis undertake various activities of planned preventative maintenance and weekly testing.
- Completing sprinkler testing, racking inspection and repairs, generator testing, emergency lighting testing, caddy car servicing
- Completing shower/Legionella testing.
- Undertaking repairs as and when required through job requests from a number of stakeholders
- Prioritise system faults
- To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times
- To ensure quality of output at all times
- To accurately record all work undertaken
Knowledge, skills experience:
- ONC in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Previous experience of maintenance in a warehouse
- A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
- Basic understanding of control systems and techniques
- Working at height
- Racking inspection and repairs
- PC literacy
- Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills - diplomatic, discreet, trustworthy and have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all levels both within the organisation and in the external environment.
- A flexible approach to work and be capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Carry out any other relevant duties as requested by your Line Manager.

- To only operate machinery on which you have been fully trained/licensed
- To report any near misses or accidents that may occur
- Responsible for maintaining and complying with company Health and Safety standards thereby minimising the risk to yourself and any other persons
