JOB DESCRIPTION:
SUMMARY :
- Provides leadership and direction to the manufacturing engineering/maintenance department and maintenance employees. Responsible for daily engineering activities, continuous improvement programs, capital projects for Production/Maintenance/Facility, the installation of machines and equipment, repair and diagnostic analysis of equipment, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of the facility. Research, plan, and design mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems. Coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, and installation of mechanical or electro-mechanical products and systems.
- Manage/lead manufacturing engineering /maintenance-related projects from concept to completion; develop project specifications, quote(s) with external and internal suppliers/contractors, communicate project status/updates to upper management, manage/control project scope/budget/timeline, etc.
- Leads, and mentor’s maintenance employees regarding established standards for safety, quality of workmanship, and effectiveness of maintenance/repair of equipment
- Develops, modifies, and implements preventive maintenance programs, tactics, and resources as needed to achieve safety, reduce the risk of equipment failure, and increase efficiencies of systems to maximize productivity
- Responsible for monitoring equipment for inventory control, inspecting frequently equipment/machinery to identify operational inefficiencies for repairs/maintenance to facilitate optimization
- Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing capital projects for Production/Maintenance/Facility for capital improvement. Negotiations with contractors for all capital projects and makes recommendations to upper management
- Responsible for leading the Plant’s rationalization/digital transformation strategies and projects with the Plant Manager, including but not limited to facilities improvements and capital improvement projects
- Responsible for on time and within budget of all capital projects for Production/Maintenance/Facility. Responsible for communicating status of capital projects to the Plant Manager and Executive Vice President
- Responsible for researching, recommending, and providing support and expertise related to manufacturing engineering /maintenance process improvements and develops budget/project plan
- Responsible for prioritizing and scheduling maintenance repair requests to ensure timely completion
- Evaluates and supervises field installations of capital projects. Recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
- Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principals, company standards and customer contract requirements and related specifications
- Responsible for contracting and working with engineering resources, vendors and contractors for maintenance services when needed
- Develops and Leads plant/process engineering and continuous improvement activities for Production/Maintenance/Facility
- Trains and develops maintenance employees to include all aspects of related equipment and maintenance techniques, including safe and proper operations of systems and equipment
- Provide a Monthly Report to Plant Manager and Executive Vice President with updates on activities, achievement of established goals, status of capital projects, updates on Production/Maintenance/Facility activities and action plans for improvements
- Responsible for conducting regular health and safety risk assessments related to maintenance to identify building/equipment hazards. Initiate and implement appropriate action plans when hazards are identified.
- Provides technical training to management and other team members in the plant.
- Performs other related duties and special projects, as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Reports to this position are Senior Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Manufacturing or related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in manufacturing/production environment and 1 year of maintenance/plant operations experience required.
- Individuals must have a strong background in mechanical/electronical experience and must have PLC experience.
- Experience working with High-Power Electrical Systems, hydraulics, project management, lean manufacturing, and statistical analysis software.
- Experience working in a union environment a plus.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Proficient in manufacturing processes with machinery and equipment.
2. Must have a thorough understanding of systems to be maintained such as: electrical, mechanical, industrial machinery operations and maintain safe working environment.
3. Must have a strong background in mechanical/electronical experience and PLC experience.
4. Working competence in Digital Transformation to assist in developing and implementing a digital transformation strategy/action plan for Maintenance Department.
5. Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal, written, technical and presentation) skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization.
6. Excellent problem-solving/troubleshooting and strong analytical skills in reviewing maintenance issues and possible operational impacts.
7. Proficient in time management with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
8. Must be detailed oriented and organized.
9. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate tasks when needed.
10. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and in other Microsoft Office 365 applications.
11. Must be able to promote a positive relationship and encourage teamwork through positive communication between all team members.

Pay: $110,726.53 - $145,788.94 per year
