As Maintenance Engineer within our Montrose Site, reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all equipment and efficient scheduling of repairs of plant and machinery and other general maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency for the business. You will work in collaboration with the repair supervision team in order to improve facility plant and equipment uptime, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety in compliance with the relevant industry standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all company policies surrounding stock, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met and improved upon as identified.
- Complete Management of Change requests for facility and plant changes
- Active monitoring of external vendors when working onsite to ensure they are executing work as per the SOW briefing and following our HSE policies
- Execute planned maintenance routines for key equipment and plant
- Arrange permits, organise briefings and active monitoring of any external vendors working onsite relating to facility and equipment maintenance
- Review the content of the planned maintenance system and suggest / implement changes to improve and optimise
- Carry out routine scheduled key maintenance work and respond to equipment faults / Breakdowns ensuring that we cannot make the repairs in house before calling in an external vendor
- Ensure that any planned maintenance activities that could impact the job workflow are communicated to the supervision team at the soonest opportunity and scheduled in with minimal impact to repair production
- Active monitoring of facility daily / weekly checks carried out by others and report discrepancies to supervision team
- Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Time served apprenticeship or NC in a relevant subject (essential).
- HNC in a relevant subject (desirable).
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience within an oil & gas / heavy plant, factory machinery or mechanical aerospace environment (essential).
- Experience within an electrical environment (desirable).
- Working knowledge of supervising a group of individuals or third-party vendors (desirable).
SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (essential).
