Job description
JOB SUMMARY
As a Shift Engineer in Engineering, you will be responsible for creating exceptional experiences for our guests. Your tasks as a Shift Engineer will include but not be limited to:
- Respond to all job requests within a reasonable time as laid out within SOP’s
- Form part of the fire life safety team
- Assist and ensure all statutory regulations are met at all times
- Maintain complete knowledge of the building and its services to include, but not limited to
- Keep abreast of any changes or alterations to the building and its services
- Have a good understanding of all plant, to include but not limited to AHU’s, FCU’s, pumps, motors boilers, chillers and all associated plant.
- Have a full understanding of outlets and the services they provide
- Maintain the building and its services to the highest of standards
- Ensure stock control and ensure all items are replenished once used and without completely depleting stock levels.
- Ensure all areas within the hotel and engineering demise are kept clean and tidy at all time. This is to include but not limited to all plantrooms and workshops.
- Have a good understanding of the (BMS) system and its operation
SKILLS:
1) Have good working knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems throughout all hotel FOH & BOH areas
2) Able to work as part of a team and also on own using your own initiative.
3) Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
4) Ability to exercise good judgment with difficult guests.
5) Ability to think clearly, quickly, maintain concentration and make concise decisions in under pressure situations.
6) Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
7) Ability to focus attention on details.
8) Ability to ensure security and confidentially of Customers and company information
9) Ability to work without direct supervision.
