Role: Shift Engineer
Location – The Lister Hospital, Chelsea, London
Permanent, Full time, 40 hours/week - Covering approx. one Saturday and one week on call per month paid at appropriate OT rates

About the role
You will be part of a small team providing maintenance and emergency cover to the Lister Hospital Group of nine sites and medical facilities. As part of the Estates team, you will provide a first-class building maintenance service to the Hospital Estate, covering reactive works, project support, scheduled maintenance works and Emergency call out.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- To ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times and to adhere to HCA Healthcare policy and procedures.
- Knowledge of commercial plant rooms
- Carry out PPM’s
- Daily checks of all plant areas, ensuring the areas are well maintained and tidy at all times
- To work on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives
- Maintain accurate records and documentation appropriate to the role
- Responding quickly to emergency maintenance call out and reactive maintenance as required
- Carry out small installation works as instructed by Estates Management Team which may involve cross discipline works
- To assist in projects as required
Skills and Experience:
- Qualified in relevant disciplines e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ Plumbing or Mechanical engineering qualification
- Previous experience within a Hospital or similar organisation is preferable
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, COSHH, PEWER, L8 water management etc.
- General knowledge of Fire regulations
- Excellent customer care and communication skills
- Computer literate
- Full Driving Licence is essential
