Cubed Talent is proud to be working as a key strategic partner in modular sector. They are at the forefront of the modular/offsite build revolution – which will be launched from their dedicated manufacturing facility - in Castleford, West Yorkshire WF10.
The Role:
Saw operator/Saw Setter of the various elements - from component level upwards that form the basis of a range of house types.
- Safe use of numerous tools both manual and powered.
- Operate saws in the most optimum & efficient way
- Coordinate the daily maintenance checks
- Undertake saw blade changes & setup
- Ensure all equipment, tooling, facility resources and production capabilities are maintained to allow for maximum availability, to allow the production programme to be met.
- Maintain & report any equipment, tools and services that are below standard
- Adhering to health and safety procedures
- Continually review equipment availability, to investigate & develop improvements which can improve overall equipment/process availability.
- From the measurements of the existing manufacturing methods and processes, where opportunities for productivity, efficiency, quality or H&S improvements have been identified, develop suggest improvements
- Support the development, implementation and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) across the department, ensuring action is taken to drive performance improvement and address performance shortfalls where necessary.
- Working with the Team leader & Production Engineering Manager assist in the implementation of improvement strategies where opportunities to improve exist.
- Continuously seek opportunities to eliminate waste and increase value, applying principles of Lean Manufacturing wherever possible.
The opportunity:
- Four-day working week - 07:00 - 17:30 Monday to Thursday = fixed 40-hour basic week ( as the business grows, we anticipate a range of shifts, so flexibility would be advantageous)

The ideal candidate:
- You will need to demonstrate a basic aptitude for building mechanical assemblies working from drawings and work instructions. These roles would typically suit those with assembly or construction laboring backgrounds as well as keen DIYers and/or practical hobbyists – although we welcome applications from candidates that are keen to understand more about opportunities within the modular/offsite manufacturing sector.
- You will have experience working with beam saw, table saw, slide saws, trained on CNC would be advantageous but not essential.
- You will be familiar with using hand tools, jigs, Saws, basic technical drawings, and other manufacturing techniques – however, those with an aptitude for learning these skills will be given support from the company through their new starter training program and academy.
- A commitment to quality work, right-first-time production, output and attention to detail, shared values and standards are also important pre-requisites
