An exciting opportunity within the Theatre Logistics Team at Salford.
The role of the Logistics Supervisor is to supervise all relevant Logistics Officers/Assistants and support the delivery of Logistics activities across the Trust site; providing an efficient safe and secure goods supply service whilst ensuring agreed service levels are maintained.
You will also deputise for the Deputy Logistics Manager as and when required.
You will be a member of the Logistics Team and will be required to adopt a flexible attitude and encouraged/expected to develop skills to enable them to fulfil the responsibilities.
Main duties of the job
- Day to day Supervision of logistics staff, planning daily work schedules.
- To provide operational cover when required to Logistics Officers on the Materials Management and Theatre Logistic Teams.
- To provide operational cover when required to the Deputy Logistics Manager.
- Work with departmental clinicians / support staff to ensure the correct equipment, medical consumables and services are available for patient care
- Action Medical Device Alerts (MDA) to ensure compliance with national instructions relating to equipment / products safety
- Whilst this role is based in the Salford care organisation, there is an expectation that individual knowledge, expertise, and lessons learned will be shared across the procurement department
- To have a working understanding of the Group Governance Framework Manual to ensure all requisitions and orders comply with the organisations policies. This includes NHSSC contracts, SBS contracts, other frameworks, and direct representation through the process
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team to enable them to achieve individual and team goals and objectives
- To present the procurement function as a progressive, proactive, responsive, and innovative department
- Ensure that an effective and efficient procurement service is provided to all end-users
- To support the department with the implementation of GS1 standards working within both the strategy board as well as operational sub-group to develop systems and processes which support the delivery of GS1 standards
