Live-in nanny in Oxfordshire Launton, England
Job description
A lovely family in Oxfordshire are looking for a live-in nanny to look after their two boys who are 2 and 4 and their new born baby due in September (the mum will be on maternity leave looking after the baby). The role will therefore be a mixture of sole and shared charge. The boys are very outdoorsy, active and like to keep busy. They really enjoy getting muddy outside, "foraging" fruit and veg in the garden, and playing any sports.
The ideal nanny will be an adventurous and outdoorsy nanny, relaxed but able to set clear boundaries and be comfortable planning activities and days out is a must. It is important the nanny is a self starter and can plan the week in advance and share plans with the parents. They would also like a nanny who has experience in a live-in role but not essential.
The typical day will be to start at 8am giving the children breakfast and then the parents will do the school run. The 2 year old goes to nursery 2 mornings a week. You will plan activities for the 2 year old, like going to the park or doing some arts and crafts, putting him down for a nap which gives you the chance to do some light housekeeping (hoovering boys’ bedrooms, changing sheets, cleaning and tidying toys). It will be time to pick up the eldest at around 3 and come back and do an activity with the boys, make the dinner and get the boys involved in the preparation and after dinner tidy up. During the summer holidays the nanny will look after both boys full time, (September 2024 3 children) so the nanny needs to be comfortable planning activities.
The nanny must be able to drive, as the family lives in a rural location. A car is provided for all nanny duties and use when off-duty can also be negotiated. It is also essential the nanny is comfortable with pets, as the family have both dogs and chickens.
The accommodation is an annex that is separate with an en-suite bathroom and kitchen area.
The typical hours are Monday to Friday 8am-6pm.
