Life Skills Recovery Worker

Life Skills Recovery Worker Luton, East of England, England

East London NHS Foundation Trust
Full Time Luton, East of England, England 23949 - 26282 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

East London NHS Foundation Trust currently provides mental health and learning disability services in Luton and Bedfordshire.

Luton and Bedfordshire Acute Mental Health Wards provide care and treatment to adults with serious mental health problems across six inpatient wards, and are located across Luton and Bedfordshire. We have vacancies on our adult wards at Calnwood Court (Jade Ward and Coral Ward) for the role of Life Skills Recovery Worker.

As a Life Skills Recovery Worker your role will be to co-ordinate a programme of groups and activities on the ward to promote social interaction and engagement as part of the therapeutic endeavour with patients during their time in hospital focusing primarily on their recovery as human beings rather than someone with a diagnosis and symptoms.

As well as leading on groups and activities on the ward, the role of the Life Skills Recovery Worker is also to act as an experienced nursing assistant on the ward working under the supervision of registered Nurses to actively participate in the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of holistic care, ensuring care is individualised and meets the needs of patients, including their physical healthcare. Please note that the successful candidate will have to complete Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression training and will form part of the inpatient Rapid Response Team as required.

You will be a caring and compassionate person, able to communicate and engage with adults who are experiencing acute mental health problems. Your focus will be on the recovery of patients and improving the patient experience.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations

Please kindly refer to the job description and person specification attached to this vacancy or get in contact with us.
