We are looking for an ambitious UWE graduate to join our team, who is committed to undertaking the MSc to pursue a career in information management/librarianship. Previous trainees have successfully obtained a variety of successful professional roles in the field following completion of their MSc and traineeship.
As well as a funded place on the MSc course, you will receive:
  • A structured training programme, including a range of development activities and the opportunity to work with or shadow colleagues in different roles.
  • Extensive on-the-job experience alongside the opportunity to contribute to specific projects.
  • A senior member of staff to mentor you throughout your traineeship.
  • Paid time away from work to attend the taught part of the course (typically one-half day per week). In return, you will need to commit to undertaking any associated study in your own time.
This post requires no prior information or library work experience, as it is designed to provide the experience you need to progress alongside study.

You will be based in the library Collections Team and will work with colleagues on a range of different tasks and responsibilities. You will also work to support the in person and online enquiry service at Frenchay as a regular part of your role, delivering fast paced and customer focussed services to our users.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed, while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further.

The campus has excellent transport links; we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 2 years, working 37 hours per week.
