Part Time Library Assistant – Tuffley and Matson Libraries – 21.5 hours per week:
Week 1: Monday 9.30-5 (Tuffley), Tuesday 2-5 (Tuffley), Wednesday OFF, Thursday 10-5 (Tuffley), Friday 2-5 (Tuffley) and Saturday 10-1 (Matson)
Saturday 9.30-1
Week 2: Monday 9.30-5 (Tuffley), Tuesday 2-5 (Tuffley), Wednesday OFF, Thursday 10-5 (Matson), Friday 2-5 (Tuffley) and Saturday 10-1 (Matson)
Closing date Sunday 26th February (Midnight)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a part time team member to work at both Tuffley and Matson libraries. We are looking for a dynamic, positive and committed individual who will play a key role in the day-to-day operations, development and organisation of those sites.
The successful applicant should have and be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent and proven customer service experience.
- Be a team player with strong communication and organisational skills
- Have experience of working with or organising events for children
- Strong ICT skills
- A knowledge of the services libraries offer and the role libraries play in the community

How you’ll help make a difference
Library Assistants are the public face of the Library Service, you are responsible for ensuring that our users have access to all the services that the libraries provide and delivering activities and events such as Baby Bounce and Rhyme. You’ll need to master the library ICT systems and be able to offer basic advice on the use of computers and tablets to those who require it.
