Job Title: Legal Business Partner
Location: UK, 100VE
Travel: 10% of time , partially within EU
JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished individual to join our team as Senior Counsel, Prestige - EU/UK. In this key leadership role, you will have full accountability for the end-to-end legal function within our Prestige businesses operating in the U.K. and EU. Reporting directly to the Global General Counsel, you will provide strategic guidance and pragmatic advice to business leaders located in the U.K. and EU.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure rigorous compliance with privacy regulations in the U.K. and EU across our portfolio of Prestige Brands.
- Offer expert legal counsel to internal stakeholders in areas such as regulatory compliance, distribution, competition, and employment.
- Oversee and execute complex transactional work, including drafting and reviewing a wide range of contracts such as SaaS agreements, distribution agreements, licenses, leases, and independent contractor agreements.
- Provide specialized expertise in evaluating and advising on product claims and packaging, aligning with the Cosmetics Regulation and relevant laws.
- Manage high-stakes litigation matters, including the selection and oversight of outside counsel when necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and provide strategic advice on risk profiles to drive informed decision-making.

Qualification Requirements:
- Licensed to practice law in the U.K.
- Suitable years of extensive and diverse legal experience across various subject matter areas in the U.K. and EU, with a deep understanding of marketing, regulatory compliance, general transactional matters, employment law, competition law, and privacy.
- Demonstrated expertise in legal issues common to the consumer packaged goods industry is highly desirable.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an unwavering attention to detail and the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders, ensuring effective prioritization and timely execution.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Inspires confidence throughout the organization through expertise, professionalism, and strong leadership capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and other relevant legal software.
- Knowledge of the skincare or cosmetic industry is highly advantageous.

Location
In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars, Lever House in Kingston and Graze in Richmond. We are creating our own Unilever sustainable, agile work environment, purposefully bringing us together in our own Unilever ecosystem. The campus is due to be completed in early 2025 and will consist of two interconnected buildings, as well as landscaped surrounding areas.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
