Job description
Law’s Transport Ltd. is looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator. Law’s is a family run haulage business that has successfully operated articulated vehicles since 1989. In recent years, the business has expanded rapidly and currently has a fleet of approximately 40 vehicles and trailers working on multiple contracts across various industries throughout the U.K.
The working hours for this role are 8am-6pm, Mon-Fri at our Sleaford office.
(Please note: This role is not suitable for candidates who are looking to work remotely)
The role of Logistics Coordinator is a managerial position. Responsibilities will include:
· Planning loads for up to 40 vehicles on a daily basis
· Communicating with drivers
· Tendering contracts with customers
· Agreeing rates with customers
· Communicating with customers’ senior management
· Being on call throughout the week (allocated on a rota basis with other members of the management team)
· Solving problems when difficulties arise (i.e. breakdowns, loads getting rejected/running late)
· Liaising with other members of the management throughout each day
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and experience:
· Previous experience in a managerial position
· A proactive mindset
· Ability to communicate effectively with drivers and a willingness to assert authority when appropriate
· Good negotiating skills
· Good geographic knowledge of the U.K.
· Ability to work with numbers
· Computer literacy
· Ability to build a good rapport with customers and employees
· The ability to work efficiently in high pressure situations and to meet deadlines throughout the week
· Excellent at working in a team
· A willingness to be flexible with hours when problems occur
Experience within the transport sector would be ideal but is not essential for the role.

Salary: £40,000.00 per year
