LEGAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
LAW FIRM OF A. GORDON SHEPARD PROF. CORP.
The law firm of A. Gordon Shepard Professional Corporation is seeking a receptionist/administrative assistant. This position is permanent, full-time, with the successful candidate to start immediately.
We are a general practice law firm. The successful candidate will be expected to be responsible for the administrative operations of our firm. These duties include answering phones, greeting clients, dictation, scheduling appointments, processing payments, managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, preparation of legal documents, dealing with real estate files including mortgages, preparing wills and powers of attorney, arranging for delivery of documents via mail, courier, fax and process server. The successful candidate will also be expected to be proficient in office accounting software such as PC Law, and will be expected to work with our accountants in preparing firm financial accounting for year end.

Experience working as a legal administrative assistant is definitely an asset, as is a diploma in legal administrative assistant from an accredited institution. Having a commissioner of oaths designation for New Brunswick is also an asset. The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain a commissioner of oaths designation, and will be expected to obtain their commissioner of oaths designation upon commencing employment, if they do not already have a commissioner’s designation.
Work hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The successful candidate should expect to occasionally work additional hours as may be required in a particular situation.
Salary will be $32,760 to $45,760 depending on experience and qualifications.
