Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Future Media Production

We are looking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Future Media Production. The ideal candidate should have experience of a creative approach to designing and delivering higher education curriculum at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels in subject specific and interdisciplinary contexts. This role requires a versatile approach and ability to deliver across different levels and (potentially) programmes and contribute to a vibrant and collaborative team that spans a wide range of digital arts disciplines, encompassing both academic and industry professionals.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Demonstrable expertise in media production planning and finance, including project funding, planning, and time management.
  • Proven experience in marketing through social media platforms.
  • A strong background in content creation, encompassing various formats such as 3D, film, and images, with specific experience in creating moving image content.
  • Thorough understanding of media technologies, as well as critical thinking practices and the production of short-form content across various media platforms.
  • Excellent conceptual and digital media skills in developing content for appropriate industry contexts and audiences.
  • A genuine interest in staying informed about current and emerging media trends.

Furthermore, the successful candidate should have an in-depth understanding of the latest industry trends within this domain. They must be capable of conducting research and supporting the delivery of academic programs that are rooted in contemporary practices while also encouraging students to explore future possibilities. This will enable students to critically examine what it means to be a creative media practitioner at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and innovation.

The applicant should also have an in-depth understanding of current industry trends within this field and/or be able to conduct research as well as delivering programmes that are grounded in the present but offer space to explore the future – leading students to investigate what it means to be a creative arts practitioner at the convergence of storytelling, technology and innovation.
