Job description
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Interiors and Spatial Practices (1.0fte) to join our academic team and are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic academic to contribute to the delivery of our BA(Hons) Interior Architecture and Design and MA in Expanded Spatial Practices courses.
Successful candidates will contribute to the further development and identity of interior architecture and design education in the Leeds School of Art’s multidisciplinary context. We are interested in applicants who have experience of delivery teaching in Interior Architecture and Design and/or architecture programmes, who can contribute to the delivery of studio-based modules, as well as digital skills and/or cultural context. Applications are especially welcome from candidates who have an expanded and interdisciplinary understanding of the discipline of interior, as well as an interest and commitment in promoting a social agenda. Candidates will have successfully completed a master’s degree in Architecture or related spatial practice and be able to demonstrate a good record of achievement in teaching, and/or professional practice and research. We are looking for a creative, inspiring and strong team player, who can demonstrate evidence of initiative, and excellent skills in team-working and organisation. Candidates will be advocate for responsible and inclusive practices and champions for promoting diversity and equality in education.
BA(Hons) Interior Architecture and Design and MA in Expanded Spatial Practice courses are within Leeds School of Architecture’s expanding pedagogical provision which also includes the following programmes: BA (Hons) Architecture, Part 1; Master of Architecture, Part 2; PG Dip Architectural Professional Practice and Postgraduate Certificate in Architectural Professional Practice, Part 3; the Architecture Degree Apprenticeship (launched in 2021); PhD in Architecture, Urban Design, Interiors and Landscape, Urban Design (MA), and Landscape Architecture (BA, MA, PG Dip). There are dynamic engagements between staff and students through our interdisciplinary studio culture facilitated by the exceptional provision at Broadcasting Place and the wider resources across the School of Arts.
