About Us:
The Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association is a non-profit organization that provides a diverse range of culturally safe and supportive services to Indigenous People residing in the Fraser Region. As a Friendship Centre, we work to strengthen connections to culture, community and wellness and work from a decolonizing perspective. Our philosophy is to provide a culturally safe, collaborative wrap around model of care.We are seeking a highly-engaged individual with an operational background in Youth Services program management for this exciting opportunity. The dynamic individual will have experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team and supporting programs aimed at supporting youth.

Surrey is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Salish Peoples, including the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), and Semiahma (Semiahmoo) land-based nations.P*osition S*ummary:The IDVP Community Liaison is responsible for connecting and supporting Indigenous families who are impacted by domestic violence. Working with MCFD staff, police, and justice services, the Community Liaison provides direct support, education, information, brief solution focused counselling and referrals FRAFCA and community services . The highly engaged individual works to ensure the safety of the children while supporting the decisions of the family with a goal of family preservation. Additionally, your sound case management skills supports the family to grow regardless of their decision to remain together or exit the relationship. Moreover, the Community Liaison will work in collaboration with the Indigenous Domestic Violence Prevention Counsellor Educator, supporting the program; coordinating weekly ICM meetings, and ensuring weekly clinical supervision/review of all open files. Finally, Working from a decolonizing/trauma informed perspective the incumbent is skilled at developing respectful and collaborative relationships with women and their families; elders & supports individuals and families to access appropriate cultural supports

Reporting and Recording:
- Monthly reports are required to meet both statistical and case management responsibilities. Monthly program reports are required as per FRAFCA policies. To provide Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual and Final reports as required.
Teamwork:
- Develop and maintain a positive, participatory approach to teamwork to function seamlessly as part of the FRAFCA team
- Promptly address those issues that may have an impact on cooperation, support and morale with their Supervisor and/or colleagues
- Take ownership proactively for areas which require attention to successfully mee the purpose of this position

- The “Harm Reduction Outreach Worker” is expected to be familiar with and comply with the expectations of confidentiality as outlined in the FRAFCA Policies (once joined) and the B.C. Child, Family and Community Services Act.
