Medical Wire – Microbiology Laboratory Technician Vacancy
Medical Wire & Equipment Co (Bath) Ltd (MWE) are currently hiring a Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join the team at their headquarters in Corsham, Wiltshire. For over 70 years Medical Wire’s clinical products have been at the forefront of laboratory science. With a broad spectrum of carefully engineered preanalytical products that are operable across conventional and molecular testing platforms, MWE products are the de facto standard aiding the diagnosis of infectious disease.
KEY Roles & Responsibilities. Quality Control Analysis of raw materials and finished goods Performing specified Laboratory tests promptly and accurately to produce precise and reliable data Analysing Quality Control results to offer effective feedback on production issues Ensuring samples are tested efficiently and database reporting kept up to date General maintenance and housekeeping of the laboratory and its equipment Recording and reporting test data to a high standard in both verbal and written forms Contributing to reviews of results and proposal of next steps
KEY Skills
- Qualified microbiologist – ideally Masters, but at least with several years bench experience Good experience of clinical microbiology either in a clinical laboratory, or with a diagnostics company Able to demonstrate competence in handling and culture of pathogenic microorganisms Experience in other areas such as food or pharmaceuticals would be desirable Experience of working with anaerobes and fastidious bacteria
