About G Live
Opened in 2011 G Live, Guildford is a landmark building. With inspirational architecture, light-filled foyers and a programme incorporating the best in live music, big name comedy, dance and classical, G Live is truly a venue for everyone. We also host community events and functions.
We offer opportunities for advancement, with regularly scheduled development training sessions as well as cross-role training.
£12-£13 per hour, 30 per week, over 5 days out of 7, subject to variation to meet business requirements.
About the Role
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the kitchen operation at G Live. Providing a range of operational support including receiving and storing deliveries, cleaning the kitchen effectively and providing basic food preparation support when needed. The role also provides porter services to the wider food and beverage operation through receiving bar deliveries and providing other support as required.
This is an operational, hands-on post which will require lifting, detailed cleaning and competency in stock handling.
Key Accountabilities
Health and Safety:
- Responsible for the safe operation of the dishwasher and the porter area.
- Responsible for the efficient and safe storage of all clean crockery, cutlery and glassware on the trolleys and in store rooms.
- Ensure cleanliness of all the kitchen. Including food storage, refrigeration and preparation areas in conjunction with the kitchen cleaning rota and health and safety regulations.
- To participate in the HACCP procedure according to the company’s Food Safety Management Document.
- To maintain the correct use of the KRB including Cleaning Rota and Closing Down procedures.
Food Production:
- When required, to support the production of food for minor catering and events.
- Resposible for correct storage of food prepared in allocated refrigeration areas, to include covering, labelling, the produce and stock rotation.
Training and Development:
- Undertake training and development relevant to the successful execution of the job role.
Operational Support:
- Provide basic porter duties for the venue including assisting with room set-up.
- To take-in orders for the Kitchen, Bar, Café and other sales points and store away in all the correct areas.
- Dress in accordance with Company uniform policy and wear protective clothing where issued and instructed.

Your Experience:
Essential
- Able to follow instructions and carry out delegated tasks accurately, effectively and within given timeframes.

Desirable
- Previous food preparation/food handling experience.
- Food hygiene certificate.
- Experience in contract catering in a busy large-scale operation.
Personal
- Able to carry out lone and assisted lifting tasks.
- Prepared to conform to dress code.
- Available to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays to meet service requirements.
