About the Role
Worldwide Events is looking for a talented and driven web developer to join our technology team. This role is responsible for maintaining and building web projects using a number of technologies both old and new, with a passion for frontend development but also a desire to understand the whole stack.
The ideal candidate will show an interest in web technologies, especially JavaScript libraries. With the ability to find the right tools for any challenge. The ability to deal with challenges and tight deadlines in a methodical and constructive manner, identify problems, learn new skills and overcome issues by asking for help is key to the success of this role.
Responsibilities Include:
- Carry out day-to-day maintenance on existing sites based on business needs.
- Implement new features and new pages on existing sites.
- Make updates and queries to databases.
- Attend a weekly stand-up and report on your project progress and focus for the next projects.
- To write clean code which is easy to understand and well-formed for maintainability.
- Manage Git workflows and CI/CD deployment systems
- Assist in planning and creating technical specifications and make suggestions on improvements to workflow and coding methodologies
- Previous experience working on or with web development platforms
- Highly organised, passionate, and skilled
- Attention to detail and a creative mindset
- Ability to set goals and priorities managing these goals
- Excellent time management skills
- Basic knowledge on Vue.JS and React.JS, HTML, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript
- Have a basic understanding of SQL
- Windows development environments
- Command-line Git – (Branching, merging and conflict resolution)
- 28 days’ holiday per year plus bank holidays
- Hybrid working (minimum 3 days in our open plan office in Chancery Lane)
