At Kaplan International Pathways we provide international students with a vital foundation in English language, study skills and academic subjects, which enables them to progress onto bachelor’s and master’s degrees at a wide range of well-ranked universities. We work with education agents, sponsoring bodies and school counsellors from all over the world to welcome students from more than 100 countries into our vibrant, cosmopolitan student bodies in locations from Liverpool, Bristol and London to New York, Boston and Phoenix. In addition to student recruitment, we also offer student accommodation all over the UK.
Besides our obvious B2C customers (students and parents) we also work with a range of B2B customers such as education agents worldwide, sponsoring bodies (governments or companies), and school counsellors.
Our websites play a crucial role in our activities, where we focus on simplifying complex product offerings and ensuring that the journeys and solutions we create enable business growth in the future.
The role
We are looking to hire a new UI Designer to work on a range of websites from medium to large. The successful candidate will work within a forward-thinking Content and Marketing team, reporting to the UI Design Manager and working closely with editors, video producers, email and social media marketing professionals. You will also collaborate with UX designers and digital researchers across the company to ensure cohesive design solutions.

Key responsibilities:
Design user-centred interfaces for web applications with a focus on accessibility and usability- Execute all stages of the visual design process: initial concept development, design and iterations and presentation to stakeholders
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups to communicate design concepts
- Ensure designs meet Kaplan brand standards and are visually appealing applying design principles (visual weight, colour theory, balance, typography) with a focus on usability and accessibility
- Continually keep yourself and your design team updated with the latest changes in your industry’s standards.
- Ensure that designs adhere to the company-wide brand direction and standards.
About you
To be considered for the role, you will need to have:
Degree in relevant field, or similar experience in industry- Demonstrable design skills with a portfolio.
- Proficiency in Figma.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS.
- Knowledge of web accessibility.
- Awareness of responsive designs for multiple screen sizes like tablet and mobile devices.
- Strong typography, layout and visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interactions.
- Ability to collaborate closely with UX designers, copywriters and developers.
- Strong attention to detail.
Our working environment
You will be based in our HQ at London Bridge for two days a week, with the other three days being remote. Our colleagues are from more than 50 countries, speak dozens of languages and enjoy working in an international, multicultural business environment.
