Junior Project Manager (12 months fixed-term with potential for permanent position)
Location: Balham, London.
Salary: £27,000 - £31,000 + Private Healthcare
Who We Are
DKT Artworks specialise in the design, production and installation of site-specific artworks and on-site specialist decoration. Our diverse multidisciplinary team is composed of artists from over 15 countries, allowing us to draw on the talent and expertise gained in the broadest range of artistic styles and materials.
From our studio in South London, we produce an extensive range of artworks and finishes including bas- reliefs, sculptures, murals, trompe l’oeil, paint finishes, gilding, verre églomisé, antiqued mirrors, hand- crafted mosaics, illuminated artworks and polished plaster.
Job Role
We are looking to recruit a Junior Project Manager to join our management team in coordinating and overseeing bespoke, high-end residential, commercial and superyacht projects. This position will be a 12- month fixed term maternity cover, with the possibility of permanent extension. You will receive training whilst shadowing our Conservation & Projects Manager, in order to take over ongoing projects during their absence whilst building a portfolio of your own projects from incoming enquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing your own projects from conception to completion
- Liaising with artists to estimate works from client briefs and technical drawings
- Project planning, including staff coordination, task allocation, material ordering and budgeting
- Undertaking quality control assessments of completed works and samples for issue
- Monitoring project progress, providing client feedback and ongoing guidance to artists
- Overseeing and developing ongoing relationships with new and existing clients
- Assisting with marketing campaigns, including social media content creation and participating in trade events and exhibition shows
- Working efficiently with existing systems and databases
- Production of RAMS for on-site projects, including COSHH reports, risk assessments and method statements
- Working with the Health and Safety Committee to ensure safety standards are being met within the workshop and on your projects and to action any items requiring improvement
- Hands on project assistance as and when required
Essential Criteria
- Practical or educational background in art, decoration, architecture or design
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- Logical thinking, problem solving and optimistic attitude
- Confidant communicator, with the ability to form and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally
- Previous experience supporting project delivery
- Ability to work well under pressure and deliver projects within set timescale and budget
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
Desirable Criteria
- Working knowledge of Photoshop, AutoCAD, Illustrator or Rhino
- Experienced reading and interpreting technical /architectural drawings
- Competent practical ability in any of DKT main skill sets, e.g. painting, gilding, carving etc.
